Omnia Reveals Clear and Loud Audio with New Omnia.11 at NAB 2010

LAS VEGAS, NV ― Omnia Audio is breaking through the cluttered sound barrier with its latest product introduction, Omnia.11. Debuting at this year’s NAB show (Telos Booth C146), Omnia.11 represents years of research and development yielding a redesigned firmware platform, GUI and adjustments to every algorithm in the system creating a completely re-thought approach to processing. The firmware in Omnia.11 takes advantage of software resources never before available for this caliber of product. The results are dynamic algorithms that were once a pipe dream of the processing enthusiast. omnia11-top-front.jpg

“Omnia.11 is on-air processing testosterone with no body fat, says Omnia President and Founder Frank Foti. “It’s pure audio, lean on distortion, yet full of punch, power and girth, with no nasty side-effects whatsoever. New material, old material, hip-hop, urban, rap, rock, country, classical, talk, religious — you name it, this is HGH (human growth hormone) for processing – say hello to Omnia.11! Instead of us making all the clichéd claims about how much better it sounds than such-n-such box, we’ll just leave that for others to make after they hear Omnia.11 and how it’s simply more revealing…period! more

Genelec Now Shipping 8260A Three-way DSP System with Minimum Diffraction Coaxial (MDCâ„¢) Technology

8260a

— Genelec’s 8260A features major advance in audio driver technology, integrated to a sophisticated enclosure design —

NATICK, MA, April 8, 2010 — Genelec, the world’s longstanding pioneer in active monitoring, is now shipping its new 8260A Three-Way DSP System. The 8260A breaks new ground in electro-acoustic design, as mechanical, acoustical and signal-processing designs are linked closely together. The 8260A features major advances in audio driver technology, integrated with a sophisticated enclosure design, and Genelec’s proprietary Minimum Diffraction Coaxial (MDC™) Mid/High driver technology takes a big step in perfecting audio quality in professional active studio monitors.

This breakthrough in coaxial driver design provides extremely accurate imaging and improved sound quality, both on the acoustical axis as well as off-axis. The very smooth frequency response leads to outstanding clarity and definition of the inner details of the audio. The 8260A combines, for the first time, a coaxial driver (MDC) with a modern waveguide technology (Genelec’s Directivity Control Waveguide™ / DCW™), ensuring that drivers couple coherently over their full operating bandwidth, as well as creating coincident mid-frequency/high-frequency point source. more
