GlobeCast and NETIA will be present at SATCON 2010 in New York on October 13 and 14, highlighting their ability to transport, manage, and play content to multiple platforms in multiple regions and to streamline the workflow of media players around the world.
GlobeCast, a content management and delivery company and subsidiary of France Telecom/Orange, will highlight its geographic and technical expansion, with new satellite capacity and fiber links in the Americas and worldwide. With its subsidiary, NETIA, GlobeCast will also highlight its Media Asset Management (MAM) solutions.
NETIA will focus on its new line of audio and video content life-cycle management and preparation solutions — highlighting the convergence of the broadcasting and telecommunications sectors. NETIA is at the heart of this convergence, with efficient, flexible, and effective technologies that empower multiplatform delivery, growing volumes of on-demand audio and video content, and multiple content formats.
Joint Demonstration of New MAM Solution
Previewed last month at IBC2010, the demonstration will show broadcasters and content creators how to seamlessly integrate their traditional broadcast environment with the latest Media Asset Management (MAM) software. The idea is to highlight GlobeCast’s ability to transport, manage, and play content throughout the world, helping clients save time and money, and easily send and share content with partners and platforms in multiple regions.
More on the NETIA Content Management System (CMS)
At SATCON, NETIA will highlight its fully upgraded suite of Media Asset Management (MAM) solutions. The NETIA Content Management System (CMS) allows customers to globally streamline all of their production processes thanks to simple, easy-to-manage workflows and task automation. The new software suite also allows users to connect all of their partners and vendors within a single production ecosystem, simplifying the sharing and managing of media assets.
Users can now manage all of the processes within the production environment — from editing through post and distribution — through one unique, and easy-to-use interface. The new Web-based interface, built on Silverlight technology, allows for more performance and greater security.
All modules provide for ingest and quality control; metadata extraction and tagging; search, browse, and low-res proxy generation; integration with key third-party systems including QA, tape/disk-based archive, non-linear editing, playout, and traffic automation; and multiplatform delivery to mobile TV, VoD/catch-up TV, IPTV, Web streaming, and HD and SD distribution platforms.
