NETIA Radio-Assist 8 to Support Multiplatform Production and Delivery Model at Romania’s Radio Iasi

NETIA’s Digital Audio Software Suite Streamlines Workflows Supporting Over-the-Air and Streaming Broadcasts

CLARET, France — Dec. 9, 2010 — NETIA today announced that Radio Romania has selected the Radio-Assist(TM) 8 digital audio software suite for its regional station Radio Iasi to support the end-to-end production and delivery of one FM channel, one AM channel, and live streaming versions of both channels. The station is installing a total of 44 Radio-Assist-equipped workstations across production, audio editing, and its live studios.

“NETIA’s Radio-Assist 8 will streamline our production workflow in numerous ways, not only improving our efficiency in delivering media across multiple platforms, but also making it easy for us to add value to new and existing assets,” said Constantin Burloiu, technical director at Radio Romania.

The NETIA software is set to allow Radio Iasi to manage its over-the-air broadcasts, as well as its multiplatform distribution of multimedia elements including sound, video, images, and text. The Radio-Assist 8 range of digital audio software programs covers the entire operation of a radio station, addressing acquisition, sound file editing, commercial and music production, scheduling, multicasting, data security, and administration. Because the software suite also offers a variety of features tailored for multimedia workflows that extend beyond traditional broadcasting, Radio Iasi can more efficiently prepare for multiplatform publication at an early stage of its radio production workflow.

Radio Iasi is using six Radio-Assist clients for production, 35 for audio editing, and three for its live studios. These systems, supplied by systems integrator AVC Group in conjunction with its partner CENTRON Group through Bucharest-based distributor C.Y.B.E.R. SRL, have been newly integrated along with new control room and master control room (MCR) systems. Each control room is equipped with, among other solutions, a NETIA editing and playout station.

“NETIA solutions offer our customers the robust functionality required for smooth production and broadcast workflows, whether for traditional broadcasting or for cost-effective and timely multiplatform delivery of media,” said Hrvoje Balasko, general manager for AVC Group. “Radio Iasi has invested in a state-of-the-art facility, and its Radio-Assist 8 software will enable staff to make the most of the broadcaster’s sophisticated audio production tools and resulting media assets.”
