TuneIn Radio App Turns the iPad Into a Worldwide Radio Tuner and Recorder
RadioTime, Inc., a developer of technology for finding and listening to radio online, today announced the release of a new version of its TuneIn Radio application designed specifically for the iPad. TuneIn Radio for the iPad features an interface that fills the iPad’s screen display and leverages multitasking in iOS 4.0 so users listen to live programs and podcasts in the background while they browse the Web and use other apps. Like the TuneIn Radio app for the iPhone and iPod Touch, the iPad version can serve as a DVR for radio, enabling users to record, pause and rewind live radio.

In less than a year, more than 1 million iPhone and iPod Touch owners have purchased the $1.99 TuneIn Radio app, making it the best-selling paid music app in the iTunes App Store, and placing it among the top 25 most popular apps in all categories. TuneIn was developed jointly by RadioTime and Synsion Radio Technologies. RadioTime earlier this year announced it had acquired the TuneIn app and hired its creator to oversee the development of RadioTime’s iPhone and iPad apps. more
