SAN FRANCISCO: Christopher Smith, Special Events Chair of the 129th AES
Convention has announced that celebrated organist Graham Blyth will perform a solo recital at SF’s Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption on Saturday November 6, 8:00 – 9:00pm.

A perennial AES Convention highlight for 17 years, Blyth will perform on the famed Ruffatti Organ. Considered one of the world’s finest pipe organs, the magnificent instrument consists of 4842 pipes on 89 ranks and 69 stops. Rising dramatically from its soaring pedestal platform, it was built in 1971 by Fratelli Ruffatti of Padua, Italy. Designed with the Baroque repertoire in mind, it is considered as much a work of art as the music it produces. more

Robert Margouleff Keynote Speaker for 129th AES Convention

robert-margouleff-0128web.jpgSAN FRANCISCO: The 129th AES Convention will open with a bang on Thursday, Nov. 4, when veteran engineer/producer and studio owner Robert Margouleff presents the event’s Keynote Address at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Margouleff will bring his unique perspective of more than 40 years working in pro audio in an address titled “What The Hell Happened?” He plans to examine the influence of fast-paced technological developments on creativity – both for better and for worse – and the creative artist’s needs in a technological world.

“Yes, we’ve had a digital revolution in music and film, shifting power away from a few big companies and toward greater access,” says Margouleff. “But we must not forget the importance of collaboration among talented artists, engineers and business people that built an entertainment industry that changed the world.” more

129th AES Convention Broadcast and Streaming Sseeions Soar

Expanded Focus On New Loudness Initiatives, Stream Formats & Facility Design

SAN FRANCISCO: “In his 22nd consecutive turn as AES Convention Broadcast & Streaming Sessions Chair, David Bialik continues to develop significant, timely, and informative events.
