Guitar Center Professional Has Strong Showing at AES 2011

— With new product launches and high-profile booth attendees, GC Pro was present in full force at this year’s convention —

Guitar Center Professional (GC Pro), the outside sales division of Guitar Center that focuses on the needs of professional users, again had a strong showing at this year’s AES convention, which took place October 21-23, 2011, at the Javits Center in New York City. GC Pro has been celebrating its 10th anniversary throughout 2011 as the organization continues to grow, and AES was the perfect opportunity to highlight the new and exciting things that they have to offer.

Prism Sound Sets Forth on Great African Adventure

Prism Sound/SADiE is about to embark on an extensive tour of Africa, during which it will impart the workflow benefits of the world-renowned SADiE recording and editing system to broadcast practitioners and stakeholders in various African nations.

The theme of the tour is Creating and Maintaining a Suspension of Disbelief, and Prism Sound/SADiE is partnering with a number of different organisations including the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association (CBA), the British Council, Sound on Sound magazine and various broadcasting corporations including those in Ghana and South Africa, and SADiE’s African distributor S.E.G.M.A.

Audio-Technica Promotes David Marsh to Director of Sales and Marketing, Installed Sound & Broadcast

Audio-Technica, a leading innovator in transducer technology for over 45 years, has promoted David Marsh to the position of Director of Sales and Marketing, Installed Sound & Broadcast. Marsh’s appointment was announced by Michael Edwards, Vice President Professional Markets. In his new role, David Marsh will be responsible for managing and directing all sales and marketing activities within the Installed Sound and Broadcast markets.

Marsh has been with Audio-Technica since 2000, when he joined the company in the position of Customer Support representative. Over the past decade with Audio-Technica, Marsh was promoted to A-T’s Assistant Regional Manager and then on to Territory Manager, a position he held until his latest promotion. SSL C10 KBS KuwaitKUWAIT CITY, KUWAIT – The Kuwait Broadcast Service (KBS), a major radio broadcasting and performance facility operated by the Ministry of Information (MOI) for the government of Kuwait, has recently upgraded four studios with Solid State Logic C10 HD Compact Broadcast Consoles. MOI/KBS encompasses nine radio stations, five drama studios, four editing suites, three live music/rehearsal spaces and one large concert hall. Sennheiser Announces Key Executive Appointments in U.S. and Latin America, Completing Leadership Restructuring in The Americas

Old Lyme, Conn.— October 27, 2011: Audio specialist Sennheiser announces two key executive appointments within its U.S. and Latin American regions, completing the company’s leadership team in the Americas. Effective January 1, 2012, Sennheiser veterans Greg Beebe and Markus Warlitz will be appointed to the positions of president, Sennheiser Electronic Corporation and general manager of Sennheiser Latin America, respectively. Meanwhile, Jean Langlais remains president of Sennheiser Canada. NEW YORK: On Friday evening, Oct. 21 a panel of legendary FM Radio engineers gathered at the Clear Channel Studios in the PC Richards & Son Theater in lower Manhattan to celebrate a half century of FM Stereo. The event was a highlight of the 131st AES Convention held earlier this month at NY’s Jacob Javits Convention Center.
Developed by the New York Section of the AES and by AES Convention Broadcast/ Streaming Events Co-Chair David Bialik, the panel was Co-chaired by Bialik and Scott Fybush of Fybush.com / Inside Radio.
