RadioTime has released the only Internet radio mobile application for the Android smart phone platform that supports Windows Media streams, the format the majority of broadcasters use for their Internet streams. This provides users with more than 30,000 stations airing worldwide — by far the widest selection available on any Android app.
The app costs $2.99 on the Android Market store and is available now.
“We drew 45 million listening sessions in March, our most-ever, and that growth has been driven in large part by users increasingly accessing the RadioTime guide via a number of third-party apps for the iPhone and Blackberry that are powered by RadioTime,” said Bill Moore, founder and CEO, RadioTime. “We’re providing Android users with the same enormous selection of stations and making it easy for them to browse and tune to favorite programs and discover all the great content that streaming music services just cannot offer.” more
