Saudi Arabia Building Out TV and Radio Network Using Jampro Antenna Systems

Sacramento, CA – The Saudi Arabia Ministry of Culture and Industry (MOCI) has selected Jampro Antennas of Sacramento, CA to furnish turnkey broadband DVB-T antenna solutions to a twelve-site network as well as supply FM antenna systems and related RF components. Alex M. Perchevitch, Jampro president, released details of the significant project from headquarters today.

MOCI specified Jampro model JUHD UHF broadband antenna systems to accommodate the digital video broadcasting side of the project. Jampro Proline rigid transmission line and associated accessories round out the system. more

Egyptian Broadcasting Network Orders 20 Jampro Flat Panel FM Antennas

Sacramento, CA (September 7, 2011) – Egyptian Radio and TV Union (ERTU) recently placed a major order for 20 Jampro flat panel FM antennas according to an announcement made here today by Alex M. Perchevitch, president of the manufacturing company. ERTU is Egypt’s national broadcasting network as well as the largest radio and television broadcaster in the Middle East with a total audience of approximately 60 million.

“We are gratified that ERTU returned to Jampro once again for their antenna needs. They have found our antennas are not only a cost effective solution, but have also performed reliably for decades under the harshest hot weather conditions including violent sand storms,” said Perchevitch. more

Harris Boosts ACC+ Efficiency for AM Broadcasters

Harris is helping AM broadcasters significantly reduce average power consumption and operating costs with its next-generation Adaptive Carrier Control Plus (ACC+) systems. 3DX Front Panel

Harris has been providing ACC systems to international customers since the launch of the Super Power DX AM transmitter in 1993, with subsequent updates for ACC+ systems. Harris engaged with the FCC to authorize use of ACC/ACC+ technology in the U.S. earlier this year following a successful trial with Alaska Public Broadcasting. Harris also did extensive testing to validate ACC and ACC+ viability for HD Radio broadcasting on the AM dial.

Harris is now leveraging its PowerSmart® technology, first deployed in its latest DTV UHF/VHF and FM transmitters, for its next-generation ACC+ systems — producing up to a 35-percent reduction in energy use for AM broadcasters. Harris Supports ACC Tests at Alaska Public Broadcasting

Harris announces that it is supporting Alaska Public Broadcasting tests for improving AM transmitter efficiency through Adaptive Carrier Control, a technique used to reduce power consumption. The company has also engaged with the FCC to open the possibility that more U.S. broadcasters can evaluate this green technology moving forward.

The Harris Adaptive Carrier Control (ACC) system is capable of several power reduction algorithm operations. These include Dynamic Carrier Control (DCC), which employs many power saving curves; and Amplitude Modulation Companding (AMC), which also yields energy savings. Together, DCC and AMC efficiencies within the Harris ACC system can potentially reduce operating costs by up to 35 percent. more

All India Radio Awards Jampro Contract For FM Station Combiners And Patching Systems

New Delhi, India (March 29, 2011) — Jampro Antennas, Inc. of Sacramento, California announced here today that it has been awarded a contract to supply All India Radio (AIR) with over one dozen Jampro model RCCC Constant Impedance FM Bandpass Combiners and patching systems. The combiners will be installed at radio stations throughout the country.

Jampro President Alex M. Perchevitch commented on the transaction by phone: “We have been a long time partner with All India Radio (AIR) on numerous antenna projects.
